Overview
A personal project, designing a solution to help retail workers sales steer towards the most important products during customer conversations.
As someone with a background in retail, I knew that practically all retail stores track data on their most important products - the highest profits, the quickest turnovers, and more.
But how easy is it for sellers and coworkers to actually sales steer towards those products during a customer conversation?
My experience told me that it was not always so simple and that a better solution was needed. Inspired by this insight, I set out to test my thesis through research and create an elegant and intuitive solution to the problem!

Problem

There were many problems with the current solution. Coworkers and sellers rarely used the tools provided, they where simply too slow and cumbersome, outdated and impractical, requiring too much effort to use.
A completely new approach was needed, a tool that took the existing product sales data and helped the coworkers leverage it during customer conversations. A tool that created a win-win by benefiting not only the coworker, but also the customer and the company as a whole by increasing sales of the most important and profitable products.
Process
Through an iterative design process the information architecture and the overall layout of the app were crafted. Once the screens and functions of the app were clearly defined, I transitioned to the high-fidelity design phase. A crucial aspect of this phase was to not only build upon and improve the information architecture from the previous phase, but to also create a visual design that were simultaneously compelling and easy to use, while being powerful and highly functional.
The project was concluded by connecting the wireframes into a interactive prototype that could be used for further user testing.
After a thorough research process conducting in-person interviews and online surveys with retail store workers, I delved into creating a sitemap and wireframes, while drawing from the insights and personas that were developed during research.
Solution
I developed the essential wireframes necessary to prepare a minimal viable product, solved the most important information architecture challenges related to the main user flows, and created a compelling and intuitive UI design while providing a strong color scheme, brand style guide & icon set.

Conclusion
The design was constructed as feasible solution to overcome significant issues with the existing one, which was marked by its slow and outdated nature. Through research and iterative design, a product was developed that leverages product sales data during customer interactions. The project finished with the synthesis of wireframes into an interactive prototype, ready for user testing.
The project conclusion includes essential wireframes for a minimal viable product, successful solutions to information architecture challenges and a compelling and intuitive UI design, which all comes together in an app that would increase sales of key products and benefit coworkers, customers, and the company as a whole.
